BITE ME!

Somewhere between dusk and whatever comes after good judgment, Bite Me takes shape upstairs above the Catalyst Club on Cat Alley Street in downtown Santa Cruz.

Bite Me returns on the Second Friday of every month.

This month, we open the doors once again to the outsiders, romantics, night creatures, artists, dancers, and everyone who’s ever felt more at home under neon than sunlight. Come dressed as the weirdo that you are—there will be door prizes for best dressed.

The evening begins long before the dance floor fills. Join us early for an evening of creativity, conversation, and wonderfully strange company.

Deathrock Karaoke: in California we used to call dark music deathrock. At some point, the public imposed the word “goth” on us. Think punk rock karaoke for creatures of the night. If there’s a song you’d like to sing, let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to have it ready.

Goth Clothing Swap: Bring clothing, accessories, or boots you’d like to pass along, and feel free to take home something new-to-you. Whether you’re clearing out your closet or searching for your next favorite outfit, everyone is welcome to participate.

For this addition, our DJs will be spinning vinyl all night long. No laptops or USB sticks allowed. The music will be an eclectic mix of dark and dance punk, goth, industrial, techno and whatever else we feel like throwing in the mix. No rules except for vinyl only!

Come early, stay late, meet new people, discover new music, and spend the evening somewhere that celebrates the unusual. Bite Me is less a nightclub than a monthly gathering of people who know that the best nights rarely happen by accident.
